Ranch Manager
Job description: Will work under initial close supervision of founder and senior volunteer to establish schedules, tasks, and responsibilities. Responsibilities include; managing the day to day well being of all equines at the ranch. Keep schedules for farrier work, vet checks, worming, and training. Help create plan for each equine as they come into the ranch. Monitor quarantine times and any prescriptions being administered. Ranch Manager will also help organize all volunteer help with the Volunteer Coordinator. This includes cleaning water troughs, mucking, cleaning tack, keeping hay area clean and keeping tack room organized. Must commit to at 3- 4 days a week, at least 4 hours each visit. This excludes weekends. This individual must adhere to the principles of Natural Horsemanship. Parelli preferred, but other N.H. Training methods are respected. Must have horse experience. Must have a current tetanus vaccination. This is an entirely volunteer position. This is a fantastic entry level opportunity for an individual who eventually wants to manage a professional barn.
Volunteer Coordinator
Individual would coordinate and manage all aspects of volunteers at the Aptos and/or Madera facility. Responsible for creating and managing volunteer schedules, volunteer training days, and all volunteer activities with regard to ranch activities. Check that sign LR forms are on hand, and guidelines are distributed. Confirm policies and procedures are in place and written copies provided to each volunteer.
Marketing Associate
This individual will work closely with the founder to follow through on fundraising and promotional issues concerning the rescue. Responsibilities include chairing the annual fundraiser, visiting or delegating resources to the local (pet friendly) retail shops to inquire about partnering or supporting the rescue. Keeping brochures and posters in the public eye.
Researching and managing our presence at local events when possible. Doggie Events, Rodeos, Cal Expo, Salinas rodeo, possible parades, Art & Wine festivals are some venues just to name a few. Other existing opportunities to follow up on that will benefit the rescue:

Presently this position would be primarily responsible for getting the back lot project done. Once barn is erected , round pen is up (drainage complete).Future projects include;
Fixing back fencing
Creating manure area, complete with hauling out capability.
Installing water tank for pasture irrigation.
Gravel on the cut road to back area. Gravel parking area.
